GLYDER To Reform With New Lineup
January 19, 2011Guitarist Bat Kinane of Irish rockers GLYDER — who announced they last October that they were disbanding after six years together — has revealed plans to reform the band with a brand new lineup. He says, "The [new] singer is great and we are in the process of replacing the vocals on some of the favorite tunes to let you know what this guy sounds like. It sounds great and he's not that far removed to Tony [Cullen, ex-GLYDER frontman] and has kept true to the songs the way you know them.
"New material is well under way and I guess there is an album worth of material there and we have been working back and forth on emails using home recording software to get the songs together, I will have samples when I announce the lineup.
"We rehearse this weekend and will be doing some recording too, I'll keep ye posted.
"I'm very excited about this."
Bat Kinane released a new solo album, "A Lifetime To Kill", in Ireland on October 1, 2010. The set can be purchased via PayPal from BatKinane.com.
GLYDER's third album, "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow", came out on April 26, 2010 via SPV/Steamhammer. The CD featured stunning Mark Wilkinson artwork and a guest solo on the title track by one of rock's finest guitarists, Dave Menketti from Y&T.
